Employment-based 2nd preference category

Overview of EB-2

To be qualified under EB-2 category, the beneficiary must possess a master’s degree or higher in the relevant field or has a bachelor’s degree with over 5 years of progressive work experience in the field.

The EB-2 category is also available for person with exceptional abilities who satisfy certain criteria.

Eligibility Requirements

EB-2 under general category

  1. A master’s degree or above
  2. Bachelor’s degree plus five-year progressive experience in the specialty
  3. A profession requiring a master’s degree or higher.

EB-2 under exceptional ability category (must satisfy at least 3 criteria below)

  1. Documents of academic background in the field of your exceptional ability
  2. At least 10 years of full-time experience in your occupation
  3. A license or certification to practice your profession
  4. Higher salary showing your exceptional ability
  5. Membership in a professional association
  6. Evidence of achievements and significant contributions in the related fields
  7. Other evidences proving eligibility
